About the Blog

This 'Blog' is intended to be a light hearted look at our three lunatics as they once again take a hire boating holiday on the Trent & Mersey and Caldon Canal.

The story will cover the lead up to the holiday, the holiday itself and to conclude will summarise the whole trip.

We are three old friends that have an appreciation of the canal system in the UK. We are interested in the heritage and engineering that stands side by side as the past mixes very well with the present.

Most of all we appreciate and recognise the hard work and the fighting spirit of those with the foresight to make the waterway system a great source of recreational pleasure for so many including boaters, walkers, anglers, cyclists, tourists and others.

The system provides jobs on an industrial scale and leaves a legacy that will last forever
